| Dignity; by the awareness and respect of all members of staff for the personal philosophies, religious following, political and cultural interest, protecting them from embarrassment, ridicule and patronage, resulting from their debilitating condition. |
| The expectation of tenderness and kindness from all staff, relatives or visitors, social or professional. |
| Privacy at times of social, personal or other contact, e.g. medical, legal or religious. |
| That confidentiality is upheld in all matters of medical, social, religious and legal interest or affairs. |
| Freedom of movement and activity, subject only to safety. |
| Freedom of choice in diet, social, personal and daily living activities as far as is reasonably practicable. |
| A homely yet safe environment. |
| The right to determine one's daily activities, e.g. waking up and social interaction etc. |
| The right of consultation and ability to decline proposals, medical, social or otherwise. |
| The right of access to those in authority, manager, propriertors and inspectors to ensure that complaints are dealt with efficiently. |
